Product Description
PC-WAX Cable Pulling Lubricant is a yellow wax based emulsion which has excellent lubricating properties for smooth low tension wire and cable pulling. Which is suitable for pulling a wide variety of cables types. These include power control, instrumentation and communication cables.
• Wax-based formula provides superior lubricity.
• Creamy texture applies casily and uniformly. - Homogeneous blend requires no mixing
• Clings to cable throughout long pulls
• Easy to apply by hand or with pump.
• Won't dry out -- surface coat forms to control evaporation
• Dries to a thin, non-conductive film that won't clog conduit.
• Stays on cable when pulling through water filled conduits.
• Compatible with a wide range of cable jackets Including Polyethylene Jackets
• Compatible with semi-conducting materials.
• Temperature stable. Does not liquify or get runny at high temperatures.
• Environmentally safe non-toxic, non-flammable and non-corrosive
Installation Techniques
The lubricant needs to reach all points where the cable and conduit rub together, to obtain optimum tension reduction. Normal application is by hand wiping on the cable jackets as the cable is pulled into the conduit. The cable will generally carry enough lubricant to complete an average pull. If cable pulls are long or difficult, inject extra lubricant directly into the conduit ahead of the cable, in addition to wiping on the cable jacket The amount of lubricant needed can vary greatly depending on the difficulty of the pull. A general formula to determine application rates for a normal pullis:
Quantity (gallons) - .0015 xLxD
L-length of pullin feet
D-diameter of conduit in inches (approximately 3/4 gallon per 100 ft. of 5"conduit).
